Military Slopaganda and The Colonial Logics of AI Race

This article looks AI-generated obituaries of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine while participating in the colonial war. I argue, that these images are weapons, and exist in the context of the larger-scale ways Russian state officials describe their participation in the “AI race”. AI accelerates existing colonial dynamics to bring about colonial futures.
